Qatar Airways issues major travel update for flights before June 15
Refunds offered for unused tickets affected by disruptions
DUBAI – Qatar Airways has issued a significant update for passengers scheduled to travel before June 15, expanding its flexible booking policy as disruptions continue to affect regional airspace.
The airline confirmed that customers holding tickets on Qatar Airways-operated flights will be allowed to make changes to their travel plans without incurring date change fees.
The move is aimed at providing greater certainty and convenience for travellers navigating an evolving situation across the Gulf.
Flexible travel
Passengers with confirmed bookings for travel up to June 15, 2026 can rebook their flights free of charge, with the new travel date extended until October 31, 2026. The airline clarified that all changes remain subject to seat availability and fare seasonality, which may influence the choice of alternative travel dates.

Importantly, travellers whose revised bookings face further disruption will continue to benefit from the same flexibility. They will remain eligible for additional fee-free changes through October 31, ensuring continuity in travel planning during uncertain conditions.
Refund options
In addition to rebooking flexibility, Qatar Airways is offering full refunds for unused tickets impacted by the disruptions. This option applies to passengers who choose not to proceed with their travel plans, providing an alternative to rescheduling.
For flights that have been cancelled, the airline may arrange rebooking on partner carriers. Under this arrangement, passengers can be rerouted to their original destination, an alternative airport within the same country, or in certain cases, to an airport located within a 750-mile radius.
Network recovery
The airline also outlined provisions for passengers travelling on partner airlines. Those rebooked on approved carriers may travel up to 10 days after the original ticket reissue date, while other interline agreements allow rebooking within a shorter window of two days.
The updated policy comes as Qatar Airways continues to respond to operational challenges caused by ongoing regional conflict and airspace restrictions. The carrier is gradually restoring its network and expects to serve more than 120 destinations by mid-May, signalling a steady return to broader connectivity across its global routes.
